The National Police Service has broken silence after Deputy President William Ruto’s rally in Kondele was marred with violence.
The Wednesday chaos erupted moments after DP Ruto kickstarted his second day in Kisumu, Kondele area for his Hustler Nation empowerment programme.
Rowdy youth pelted stones on DP’s motorcade, a move that Ruto said is against his Hustler Nation approach which is using violence.
However, Police have said that the groups fighting were scrambling for logistic funds that were shared among small groups.
The police added that they had informed DP Ruto to skip the tour after gathering intelligence byt unfortunately he ignored.
DP Ruto sought refuge in Migori County where he met Governor John Obado moments after his Kisumu rally was cut short.
