The annual football award, Ballon d’Or, by French Magazine France Football is back full of surprises.
The 2021 prestigious awards resumed today after cancellation of last years dur to covid-19. Chelsea took the day after nominated players beat Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah.
PSG player Lionel Messi won the 2021 Ballon d’Or for the seventh time. His main opponent Robert Lewandowski came in second.
Football fans were heartbroken when Chelsea’s Eduardo Mendy came second as PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma won the Yashin Trophy.
It was also a good day for Chelsea fans as midfielders Jorginho and N’Golo Kante came third and fifth respectively. Chelsea club also won the Club of the Year award and are currently on top of the EPL table.
