The entertainment industry has been the subject of the day on the social media platforms for a while now, thanks to President of comedy in Africa, Eric Omondi’s rants.
Eric Omondi has been calling out Kenyan musicians for reportedly ‘sleeping’ on the job as foreign acts take over the industry.
His rants started when a lot of foreign acts, mostly being Nigerians, were trooping into the country and being paid millions compared to Kenyan musicians.

However, things took a different turn after Eric Omondi commented on Jamaican dancehall artiste Konshens who blasted the comedian.
Eric Omondi was wondering why Kenyan musicians couldn’t come up with a concert for closing the year and instead invited Jamaican artists, Konshens, Charly Black, and Popcaan who will be having separate events on 31st Dec 2021.
“HONESTLY are we doing this BADLY???????? Is the State of our MUSIC Industry REEEEALY THIS BAD???????? I really have nothing against International ARTISTS my HEART is PROFUSELY BLEEDING for our INDUSTRY.
“You HONESTLY want to tell me that a @khaligraph_jones @otilebrown @realshinski CONCERT cannot pull Crowds on the LAST DAY of the YEAR????. I have no PROBLEM with Konshens. My Issue is our own MESSAGING!!! We are and have been KILLING OUR OWN!!! It’s all in the MESSAGING PEOPLE, MESSAGING is everything. SO next week KENYAN ARTISTS will be UNVEILED as CURTAIN RAISERS,” he said.
Responding to the comedian, Konshens said that he is coming to Kenya for the love of the fans and even had other events to attend back in his home but chose to come.
He believes that foreign acts shouldn’t be blamed for the love they are getting from Kenyans.
