Nominated Senator and a staunch supported of Deputy President William Ruto, Isaac Mwaura, has been readmitted to the Senate by Speaker Kenneth Kusaka.
Isaac Mwaura is back at Senate following a High Court ruling that quashed move by Jubilee party to deregister him.
The political party tribunal had backed up Jubilee’s decision to expel Mwaura but he moved to the high court.
The ruling party, Jubilee, had nominated Sammy Leshome to take over Mwaura’s job but was barred by the court from taking oath.
“High Court having quashed gazette notice no. 4598 dated May 11, 2021, by the chairperson of IEBC which appointed Mr Sammy Prisa Leshore to replace Isaac Mwaura as a member of the senate representing PWDs, I therefore direct that Isaac Mwaura Maigua, CBS, MP, remains as Senator in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya and the Senate Standing Orders,” Lusaka said on Wednesday.
Mwaura had said he forgives those who wanted him gone after landmark ruling by the High Court.
“Those who wait upon the LORD cannot be put to shame. The High court ruled that gazette notices that declared my senate seat vacant and the purported replacement are null and void To my nemesis, I forgive you,” he tweeted.
