The Caretaker Committee has suspended all football leagues in the Kenya.
The committee that took over Football Kenya Federation (FKF) said that the leagues need regularization.
This comes a day the team led by retired judge Aaron Ringera took charge of the struggling football federation under the helm of Nick Mwendwa.
“Following a meeting of the Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee this morning, it has been unanimously decided to suspend; FKF Premier League, FKF Super League, FKF Division One, FKF Women’s Premier League, FKF Women’s Division 1 League,” reads the statement in parts.
This is the first task from the committee which was officially unveiled by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.
The push and pull between FKF chairman Nick Mwendwa and the Ministry has also attracted FIFA, which threatened to ban Kenya.
The international body asked the ministry to reverse the changes or risk ban. FIFA also invited FKF and Amina’s docket for a meeting to air their concerns.
